Be sure to call ahead to confirm that the class will happen.

The cost of this carry permit class is $50.00. The permit is then $100.00 when you apply at the Drivers Testing Station. The permit is good for 8 years. You must apply for a permit within 12 months after the training.

You must go to https://dl.safety.tn.gov/ to apply on line before your class (bring in your APPLICATION NUMBER). Call and give the number to Nancy or Charlie to pre-register.

The evening classes are 6:30 PM until 11:30 PM. On Thursday you discuss the carry and why not to shoot and a 50-question quiz. And you will need a handgun and 50 cartridges to shoot the state course of fire

*The day class goes from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. You need to bring a lunch, a handgun and 50 cartridges. You may make arrangements to have Bend of the River provide gun and ammo for an additional small price.

The classes are held at the Bend of the River range. Go north on Tennessee highway 136 (North Washington Ave.) approximately 12 miles from the court house in Cookeville. The range will be on the left. Check in the brown office building.
