MIKE THOMPSON REPEATS WINNING PISTOL MATCH

 

COOKEVILLE, TN – Mike Thompson did a repeat by winning the End of the Season Pistol Match held recently at the Bend of the River.  Thompson had the score of 1937-15X.  Second went to HelenMarie Kulis from Cookeville at 1647-4X.

The match was in three series with 30 shots Slow fire and  30 shots timed fire and 30 shots Rapid fire in each series.  The Slow fire is ten shots in ten minutes.  The Timed is two 5-shot strings with 5 shots in 20 seconds.  It sounds fast but try holding your breath for twenty seconds and you will see there is plenty of time for 5 shots. The Rapid fire is two 5 shot-shot strings in 10 seconds.  Once again there is time to get off 5 accurate shots.  

It was a great day for a shooting match.  The weather was great. It was warm enough for short sleeves but not so hot to hurt. 

This is first year of competition for HelenMarie.  HelenMarie has been improving all season with the 1647 being her personal best. 

This is the last scheduled Precision Pistol Match for the 2024 year.  The next match will be in May 2025. 

The BB-Gun program for 8 to 15 year odd children will begin Saturday January 4^th, 2025.
