JEFF NORROD WINS 2023 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

 

COOKEVILLE, TN – Jeff Norrod from Monterey claims the Tennessee State Smallbore Championship held recently at the Bend of the River.  Norrod has been shooting for many years won the title easily by 6 points. Norrod had 1097 – 19X over Second place James Fields from Crossville at 1091– 23X.  Jayden Grider from Baxter was High Junior and High Lady with 1016 – 18X.  Jacob Schmidt from Sparta was next last with a 973 – 8X.

It was a little hot, but the light breeze made it manageable.  The rain was a possibility but never happened.

This was a .2ZLR  three position match shot at 50 yards.  There were 40 shots each position of prone, standing and kneeling.  This was a slow fire match with 40 minutes in the prone and 60 minutes standing and kneeling.  The X  count is for shots near the center of the bullseye and is used to break tie.

Three position matches are held monthly from May to  September.  Everyone is invited to attend and participate.
