NICK Van EGMOND WINS INDEPENDENCE DAY OPEN

 

COOKEVILLE, TN – Nick Van Egmond was the winner of the Independence Day Open held recently at the Bend of the River.  This was a three-position smallbore rifle match held outdoors at  50 yards. This match consisted of prone, standing and kneeling.  There were 40 shots in each position.  It is a fun match that favors the young.  The positions are slightly more difficult for stiff older people. 

Van Egmond ended with the score of 1157-35 X.  Second place went to Jeff Norrod from Monterey at 1110-20X. Third was won by Jayden Grider from Baxter.

 It was hot, but no rain.  Van Egmond was first in each position.  The other shooters pushed hard and there was only a small difference in scores.  Kneeling had only 4 points between first and second place.

The next match at the Bend of the River is a smallbore rifle match Augus 4^th and the next pistol match is August 11th.  These matches are open to all that are able to safely handle the necessary equipment.  The public is invited.  For more information contact Charlie Pardue at  (931) 498-2829 or  bendoftheriverpsc@twlakes.net  .
